LHRMA… Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics of the Lakeshore Human Resources Management Association (LHRMA) is intended as a guide to members in their interrelationships with members and related activities that involve the Association.

1. No member shall engage in any business or transaction or shall have a financial or private interest, direct or indirect, which conflicts with the proper discharge of his or her official duties.

2. No member shall use membership for purposes of direct personal business solicitation or promotion; examples are: distribution of promotional materials, personal solicitation of other members, or promotion of promotional wares and services at LHRMA activities. Activities approved on an individual basis by the LHRMA Executive Board are not violations of this code.

3. No member shall use any confidential information concerning the finances, electronic and surface mailing lists, negotiations, or other sensitive information concerning LHRMA to which he or she may become privy, to advance the financial, business, or private interests of any person, unless such disclosure is authorized by the Executive Board.

4. No member shall engage in activities which would serve to bring LHRMA into disrepute.

5. No guests at LHRMA functions shall be allowed to engage in activities not permitted to members without the express authorization of the LHRMA Executive Board. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests at LHRMA functions.
